    Hi

I have a problem with the cpbackup. Nearly every night the server crashes because of the backup of cpanel. The load goes very high because of gzip. The backup also takes about 20 hours. As soon the backup is over, the load of the server is very low again. Just during the backup the server is getting very slow. Is there a way to optimize this?

    Thanks
    Michael

Did you upgraded cPanel to newest STABLE / RELEASE and the problem still exist? Maybe you run full backup not incremential?

3 nights out of 5 one of our servers crashes too during backup (full backup to remote FTP). This happened using 9.9.2 S8 en nowlast night running 9.9.8 S6

Logs didn't help me much but I saw cpu load going high and then server out. I am happy to see I am not the only one. I just disabled the backup to see if this really is the cause of the crashes.

I'm using 9.9.2 R7 and upgrading now to the latest Release. Let's see if this helps...

I'm using Fullbackup to another partition.

    Thanks
    Michael

Yes, it works correct. I just reinstalled an account and everything is ok.

Durring the upgrade to the newest version I saw the following message:

Unable to load Shared RRDTOOL support, rrdtool exec will be used (slow)

    Could this be a reason?

    Thanks
    Michael

I don't know why it is, but I saw this problem with previous upgrades of cPanel, so I think you may ignore it. I'm happy that backup is working in new version of cPanel, I will upgrade my to the newest RELEASE because now I broken backups by previous version of cPanel.
