One server started doing this about 2 weeks back - cpbackup dies after backing up anything from 5-20 accounts. It does not send an email either.

At first I thought it was a problem with FTP so I made it do a local backup. No joy. Exactly the same thing - dies after a dozen or so accounts.

It seems to always fail at the same place (but not on the same account. Always a different one) - the directory files/ is created (and it seems the files are all copied) and the empty user.tar.gz file is also created.

I took note of the account it failed on twice now and manually ran /scripts/pkgacct -user and that worked fine so I don't think its the actual user account.

I don't think it's load related as the load never goes above abut 4.

    Anyone experienced something similar?
