I have a godaddy server with cpanel. When they set up the server, they use the root login to access cpanel.

well, recently I started receiving emails concerning brute force attacks yadda yadda, IP blocked....

except not just the IP has been blocked but I can not login with root from ANY ip address... And since I tried so many times from my own machine, I can not login with ANY account from home.... dohp...

    how do I fix this?

    thanks!

Login via another IP or just wait 20-30 minutes for it to drop your IP address. The cphulk is a server wide addon, it does not matter what IP you are accessing if it is part of the same server.

    dedicated server

    Hey John,

    I pay godaddy 160/month for a P4 1GB, with mirrored 120GB drives...

Can you guys come close to that if I switch to you? I'm tired of Godaddy support.

Yeah let me PM you, yeah.

As far as the cphulk just stop trying for a bit and it should work.
