    Just received this email:

DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Incorrect database name 'cphulkd.bck' at /scripts/update_db_cache line 44.
DBD::mysql::st fetchrow_arrayref failed: fetch() without execute() at /scripts/update_db_cache line 45.

From our server management company, it seems that there should be no . in a database name. Can anyone tell me how a dot got into a database name? Was it a user error or did cpanel make backups and created this in error? Still trying to figure how this got into the database.

    Hi,

I received the same error after this night's upgrade to cPanel 11.25.0-R42213:

    Code:
DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Incorrect database name 'username_phpb2.bak' at /scripts/update_db_cache line 44.
DBD::mysql::st fetchrow_arrayref failed: fetch() without execute() at /scripts/update_db_cache line 45.

PhpMyAdmin does show its presence, but the database does not contain any rows.

    Please advise.

Well, restarting the MySQL server did not solve the problem either.
I guess the only thing to do is rebuild MySQL cache. How can this be accomplished?

I can't imagine we're the only two with this problem. How did one solve this? The message is send every four hours.

    Thanks.

If it's the same problem as our original problem, the techs renamed cphulkd.bck to a compliant database name cphulkd_bck and that stopped the warnings. Hope that helps.

And how can this be achieved?

    Either :
    Code:
    drop database 'username_phpb2.bak'

    or
    Code:
    rename database 'username_phpb2.bak' to 'username_phpb2_bak'

    respond with an MySQL error.

    Thanks.

Renaming the corresponding path in /var/lib/mysql solved the problem.
    E.g.
    Code:
    /var/lib/mysql/username_phpb2.bak
    to
    Code:
    /var/lib/mysql/username_phpb2_bak
