    Hello,

I was browsing around for answers regarding the cphulkd appearing often on my process list in htop and found this: cPHulk Management on the Command Line - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation

I was struggling with that as well. cphulkd seems to be eating up resources in htop appearing occasionally multiple times in the process tree. That is also related to high server loads (mainly via io wait time). When the multiple cphulkd instances stop the load drops back down.

I already have csf and lfd configured and running on the server and I wonder if using cphuld is a redundant security measure. I did notice that lfd rarely appears on the process list and never floods it.

    Thank you

    Hello,

There's some discussion of this on the following thread:

SOLVED - Using cPHulk and CSF Together?

That said, cPHulk isn't a requirement, If you are able to stop brute force attempts via another application (e.g. CSF/LFD), then it's a preference you are welcome to choose. As for as the resource usage, do you notice anything abnormal in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cphulkd.log when that happens?

    Thank you.
