    Hello
i've looked in like 100 threads talking about cppop failure
    i'm experiencing same problem
after whm upgrade i got the service cppop failed
when i restarted it i got

when i use outlook to connect to my pop3 account it says "Connected" then after 2-3 minuts it just says it says "your pop3 has not repsonded in 60 seconds would you like to wait another 60 seocnds for the server to respond ? " and then gives this error "A time-out occurred while communicating with the server. Account: 'sales@xxxxxxx.com', Server: 'mail.xxxxxxx.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19"
i can connect to server via telnet on port 110 too
i also ran apache upgrade cpanel forced update .. some fixes that i could found but didn't help

I would suggest that you log a support ticket with cPanel since cppop is something of a black box (you can't see inside it).

    hello Chirpy
    thanks for your reply
but when i submitteda ticket using the cpanel built in support system inside whm i recived a reply on my email asking for root password and server ip
i replied providing them and its about 24 hours and no reply

alse is it possible to uncheck the cppop from service management and install another pop3 server .. and if yes so what do you recommend to use instead of cppop ???

No, it's not as simple as that - it would be quite tricky to do, even if it were possible.

i was in the shell and suddenly i received a broadcast message that the server is rebooting however i didn't reboot it and also i have root login mail warning
    u think its weird ??
the thing which is even more weird is after that weird system reboot i found cppop running again
how ever i tried to reboot the server many times and on everytime i rebooted ... the cppop was still down
i rememberd that i have submitted a ticket to cpanel that has my root password on it
i thought that they made it and helped me
    welll
i changed my root password and checked my email and i found this email
so its not a cpanel tech man that fixed it

what made my server reboot from itself
and what made cppop fix itself

    well
i scanner the server using chkroot and rootkit hunter and the report showed there are no possibly trojans

if any person has any idea or explanation please tell me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try the following command for a list of logins and reboot initiations:

    last -da
