Has anyone else experienced performance issues with cppop?

I get customer complaints anytime their mailbox is 3-4MB in size about timeout errors.

I have modified teapop, an RFC compliant pop3 server with great support for virtual hosting, to support the cpanel file structure for authentication... anyone interested in a copy, let me know.

Any other solutions out there to eliminate the problems, or any possibilities of maildir support?

I have entered a report into bugzilla for this as well.

Have any of you gotten a different pop3 server working? Just curious as to how it's going.

I have teapop downloaded and installed, but it's not running yet 'cause I will need a moment to take a look at the configuration. I hope to have some time later this week....

    Performance problems with CPPOP

[[first of all: sorry for my poor english!! :) ]]

I'm also interested in teapop modified for Cpanel :) Please send me a copy to gorka@hostalia.com

We are also having lots of problems with CPPOP relating performance. When there are a lot of customers checking the email simultaneously, we've got a bottleneck and our server can't handle so much requests! The Pop server the timesout, and it also affects the panel performance and proftpd performance. Fortunately, web is fine on this situations, but users are enable to check their email, access their cpanels, or login to FTP. All timeout!!

If I check the process list at these peak times, I can see over 60 cpop processes in the pool, so I suppose the problem is cppop.

I guess if this may be related to a max-open-files by the kernel.

Same here, cppop bogs down the server.

I noticed there is a new tweak which includes adjusting the cppop in cpanel6, but there is no stable version for linux yet.
