    You can visit the Microsoft forums and see for yourself. Many server running Cpanel 7.0+ are starting to experience the following error, error 0x800ccc97 when their users attempt to pop the server. If you have not experienced this on any of your servers yet you may very shortly. The funny thing is that Microsoft has repeatedly informated the vendor(CPANEL) about this problem and Microsoft claims they have not received a reply. Typical. While this might not be hurting Cpanels business it certainly is having an impact on ours. Maybe it will just take a post in these forums to get Cpanel to move it! Here is why this error is occuring;

    Your ISP is running the cppop 5.2 server, and *everyone* that has complained about this error is using either that or cppop 5.0. What is happening is that the server reports that there are, say X messages in your mailbox. Outlook then asks for the IDs of those messages and the server returns Y IDs. X does not equal Y, as required by the POP3 standard. Tell your ISP to contact their server vendor for a fix. I've sent mail to the vendor pointing out the problem, but they have yet to
    respond.

    Stright from the horses mouth! I dont know how many times I'v reported this error without any reply or fix. It just gets ignored. Im tried of having to delete my users mailbox from disk then having them to recreate their email account every time this happens.

    It's not a perfect world and Cpanel support is not perfect either. However, I do think that this fix prooves that Cpanel staff are trying their best. My thanks to them :)
