    Hi All,

    I started getting emails that cpsrvd had failed and after receiving a string of them, figured out that it wasn't starting automagically. I went into the shell and attempted a restart and CPANEL services failed. I tried a reboot and that didn't revive it nor an additional cpsrvd restart. The cpanel error log shows the following right before it failed. I'm running CURRENT - sorry don't have exact version number...it auto updates

    Thu Apr 24 22:37:57 2008 warn [Cpanel::AcctUtils]: Missing user argument at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Logger.pm line 35
    Cpanel::Logger::cplog('Missing user argument', 'warn', 'Cpanel::AcctUtils') called at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/AcctUtils.pm line 38
    Cpanel::AcctUtils::gethomedir(undef) called at whostmgr/bin/whostmgr2.pl line 116

    Any ideas on what might be wrong and how I can correct? Websites are up as well as other services so this isn't super critical, but none of my clients can access their cpanel so its just a matter of time before I start hearing about it.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Yep, just started getting this on two of my servers too. Sounds like a bad update. Any fix?

    WHM/Cpanel/Webmail failed

    Starting cPanel services: /bin/bash: line 1: 3451 Segmentation fault /usr/local/cpanel/etc/init/startcpsrvd

    Yup, and cpanel update isn't working at the moment.

    any solutions yet

    any one with a solution to fix this mess. upcp ran and near the end no clear sign of restarting.

    restarting cpanel services don't help.

    2 servers with this issue currently.

    My issue was where it would just loop trying to connect getting to the update server, after an hour or so checking out logs and stuff it just started working and ran.

    maybe service is just being intermittent right now?

    forced the update - which completed successfully - and cpanel came back with a restart.

    Running upcp corrected this problem on 2 servers. Also running "/usr/local/cpanel/cpsrvd-ssl" should get cpanel/whm up and running immediately. You can then do your update.

    I ran the upcp and the upcp --force and noticed several errors..
    ImportError: /usr/lib/librpmio-4.2.so: invalid ELF header

    any ideas.... my whm/cpanel are both still down

    also running the above "/usr/local/cpanel/cpsrvd-ssl" seems to start the services but I get a 401 error when trying to connect to WHM

    Have you tried running /usr/local/cpanel/cpsrvd-ssl from the command line?

    Oops, looks like you edited your post right after I replied.

    after several attempts i was able to get HWM/Cpanel running ... however still seeing that same error in my nightly logs...

    File "/usr/bin/yum", line 22, in ?
    import yummain
    File "/usr/share/yum/yummain.py", line 22, in ?
    import clientStuff
    File "/usr/share/yum/clientStuff.py", line 18, in ?
    import rpm
    ImportError: /usr/lib/librpmio-4.2.so: invalid ELF header Traceback (most recent call last):

    as a guess.. it looks like my yum is out of date...
    would this assumption be correct...
