cpu overload from root.

    Hi in whm looking at service status - cpu/memory/mysql usage i see a red band that says user is root, top process is 125% (2 cpu's) gzip, 2 mysql processes. Any advice in what is causing this overload.

    cPanel Access Level:
    Root Administrator
    you probably find the cpanel backup is still running.

    on the command lien do "ps fax"

    find the line with gzip in it :)

    From our experience, only GZIP uses that amount of resources.

    If you do daily backups, try INCREMENTAL instead if you are not backing it to an off-site server.
