CPU usage

    usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -DSSL
    has a high CPU usage. Anyone know what causes this. Only one of our servers has this very high. 55% CPU usage

    More than likely an intensive CGI is running continuously.... or it is the start of an attack. If the PID doesn't change, run strace against it to find out what files are related to it, on the server.

    Then you can pinpoint who it is, if it's internal.
    If not, look at your netstat and see if you can locate an abuser attaching hundreds of times to port 80

    There are lovely people like that everywhere ;)

    Ill give suggestions a try

    I already tried netstat and nothing really looked unusual. I think your probably right that it is a script issue from a local user if I can find out which user it is. With WHM nothing looks out of the ordinary? I'll get one of my paid techs to look at it further, I was just hoping to find the solution on my own but with it now going up to 8.7 I'm a little worried about a crash.
