    ok this is VERY weird.

the other day i started getting this error from ONE email account.

But all my other accounts at the same domain arent getting this error, after a couple days of testing and trying to figure this out, updrading exim, restarting cppop about a million times. etc.. etc.. the list goes on.

I GOT IT TO WORK, but couldnt receive mail!!!! So i remove the account and re-add it, now im getting the original error yet again!

So i added a test account, set it up in outlook NO problems.

Anyway, its like something is blocking this email-user-name.. i suppose? :(

I just cant figure it out, the error im getting on microsoft.com it says to disable norton email scanner to fix it.

I dont have Norton or any other viruse scanner that scans incoming and outgoing emails. :)

Im at a loss. Makes no sense.

    any help appreciated,
    fusion

whizkid posted this in another thread, and it works!!!!!!!!

Great news! I've been able to fix this on my box... here is what I did:

-) Run outlook, download all mail.
-) Delete the mail box via CPANEL
-) SSH in to the box
    -) SU -
    -) cd /home/domainusername/mail/domainname
    -) deltree -f affectedmailboxusername
-) recreate the mailbox in CPanel.

    Presto!

Lemme know how it worked out for you!

And how will they download the mail if they can't login in the first place?

Webmail is always an option, no?

As for the initial problem, time-outs usually mean there was a connection problem, either along the way to the Server or the Server was (at that moment) being heavily taxed and couldn't handle the request.

Waiting for a bit and trying again should be the first thing one does.

I suppose it shouldn't take more than a day to forward 1000+ emails one at a time to Outlook. :D
