    Hello:

When I try to create a new account in whm I get the next notice:

"Sorry, that domain is already setup (remove it from httpd.conf)"

This domain is an addon domain of my principal domain in whm with a wordpress blog.

I see I can remove de domain in the cpanel from the addons section, but Im affraid it would delete all the files.

Is there a way that I can backup the files (so wordpress run normally after) for this addon domain, or do I delete it from the addons, create the account, and everything is normal?

    Thanks in advance

    Diego

    Hello Diego,

You could make a full cPanel backup first. In root SSH, the easiest way is to run this command:

    Code:
    /scripts/pkgacct username
Where username is the cPanel username for the account.

Of note, the addon domain files and database will not be removed on removing the addon domain. Only the addon domain name and subdomain will be removed as records in /var/cpanel/users/username, /var/cpanel/userdata/username, /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf, /var/named/addondomain.com.db locations along with other bookkeeping files that assign ownership of the domain to that account (again, username in the paths indicated is the cPanel username, while addondomain.com.db is the name of the addon domain).

If you create a new account for that addon domain, you will need to move the database to be owned by the new account and move the files to that new account location. They will not work in their currently existing location.

    Thanks a los cpaneltristan.

The only doubt I have left is if there is a way to move the database and the files to the new account automaticly. Or do I have to do it manually.

    Thanks

    Diego
