Hi,

I am using digitalocean VPS, which only comes with 1 IP.
I wanted to create reseller account and wanted to use different nameserver for it.
Something like ns1.maindomain.com, ns2.maindomain.com for main seller and ns1.reseller.com, ns2.reseller.com for a reseller account.

How can I make it possible?

regards
TIN

You can either create the nameservers using the same IP or can ask for additional IPs to your VPS provider and use those additional IPs to configure your name servers .

Hi, thanks for replaying.
what if the domain name is totally different? Like I already have ns1 and ns2 for abcd.com, can I create ns1 and ns2 for efgh.com for the same IP? What will happen with reverse DNS as i have pointed that IP to reverse dns for abcd.com?

Hello,

It's acceptable to use a single shared IP address for multiple name servers. There's no requirement to setup the RDNS entry on the IP address to the name server hostname. Generally, the RDNS entry is configured to point to the server's hostname.

Thank you.
