Is there a way I can create a subdomain for a seperate user account.

domain is : foobar.com
user is : foobar

Now let's say I create a subdomain.
domain: sub.foobar.com
user: subfoobar

The reason I want a separate user is for security reasons for ftp and shell purposes. I would like to give someone ftp and shell access to a sub domain to our site for development reasons. Since I have suexc enabled, a separate user would be appropriate, right?

Hi Section31,

Sure, you can create a user separate user account for your subdomain. All you have to do is make sure, the primary domain is also hosted on your server. Then in the creation of the new account for your subdomain, just enter the subdomain you would like to assign to the user. Make sure you have not added the same subdomain name in you primary domain account otherwise it might induce conflict.

Ok, i just figured out that I can just add subdomains as an account. What happens if I have that subdomain already created? Will this give me an error or will it break cpanel...lol
