Creating Account - Don't Add www. in httpd.conf

Here's the situation. User is signing up for an account with domain.com. Upon successful signup, the account is created andan entry is created in httpd.conf for the domain, however it's setting the ServerAlias to be www.domain.com -- is it possible to have the entry created in httpd.conf only be domain.com? How would I go about doing that?
