I'd like to transfer (backup and restore) a cPanel account and its home folder, but without the MySQL databases (the size of the DB is causing load to go crazy while trying to restore a full cpmove, so I'm trying to restore the DB separately).

Is there a way to backup an account (home folder, crons, etc.) from command line, without the backup including MySQL database(s)?

You can download the full backup from the cPanel at the home directory. Once you complete the download extract the files and move all the folders except the mysql folder and also the mysql.sql file.

Thank you. Would this also cause MySQL user privileges creation to be deleted, or would that be preserved?

The "mysql.sql" file located in the full account backup contains the user privileges information; if that file is removed from the extracted backup contents then it could not be used during a restore.
