was wondering if it is possible to create/maintain email accounts without having to login into the cPanel. The reason I ask is because I developed my first site for a client and I created a few email accounts that I know they will be using riht away. However, what about in the future. I'm not sure if it custom to allow users to login into the cPanel and create accounts as needed or programmatically have it built into the site some how, which I think I would prefer to do.

Yes, you can programmatically create mail accounts. However you will need to have reseller access to the server.

The following thread can give you a good start on how to do this: http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?p=466001#post466001

If you need any help understanding our APIs at all, please feel welcome to let me know and I'll be glad to help :).

Update, if you call the XML API over ports 2082 and 2083, you can use cPanel user credentials to do this for a specific cPanel account.
