    Hello,

I have tried to create a simple account for someone to access my server via SSH, but I am having a hell of a time. How do you create a linux account without using cpanel? How do I set the password for this account? passwd does not appear to work...

    Thanks

The "useradd" command is what your looking for. You must be logged in as root to use this command. Once the account is created then you can use the "passwd" command, (example: passwd accountnamehere) to change the password for the account.
