We want to allow users to create an online bookstore and have the account set up automatically.

Is there anyway to have subdomains created automatically for these accounts on a shared hosting account using cpanel?

Also, if they register a domain name for their account is there a way to have it resolve to that subdomain.

I was told to come to cpanel forums to ask.

    Thank you,
    Scott Lindsay

There are a few scripts out there which will provide this functionality. We like to get scripts from

I remember seeing the code to use cPanel from within scripts, but I can't seem to find it anymore. If you code your own scripts, I think it's out on the web somewhere. Maybe someone can point you in the right direction.

If you want the subdomains to be masked by a domain name you would probably need to enable addon domains with your host. This is the definition of an addon domain.
