I know that is possible to do, but could any provide me some steps on how to do it? I've tried to do it in Webmail, but that didn't work out that well.

    Thanks,

    Terry

I created the folders/sub folders I wanted via SSH. I then ran the fix mail boxes option in root WHM. Seems to work like a champ.

If you are using Outlook etc, just right click on the main imap folder and create a new one. Outlook will send the command to the imapd daemon and everything is taken care of.

I do it this way on a daily basis since I check emails from at least 4 different machines depending on where I am at the time.

Yes, but you cannot create sub folders.

The "folders" that are created are not directories but just files and hence cannot contain subfolders.

When creating a top-level folder, add a slash on the end of the folder name, for example "newfolder/" instead of "newfolder". This will make the folder be created as a directory, which can then be populated with subfolders.

    imap folder

    Hello,

You can create subfolders using imap in outlook express. While configuring the imap account , go to the properties of the email address used. In that open the IMAP tab.

There is an option called, "enter the root folder:. In that just give your account name. ie, if your email account is test@domain.com then the entry should be test.

After this you can create and delete folders within your mail account.

    Thank you.

    Regard,

    Gemi
