    Hello,

I just created an FTP account on an established cPanel domain with Wordpress installed and even though I gave the FTP account a password in cPanel, the contents of the folder are open to a web browser via http by visiting www.exampledomain.com/exampleftpfolder without having to enter the FTP credentials.

Can you please give me some idea of what may be causing this as I have to get a secure FTP folder assigned to this domain right away. Thank you.

Add an index.html to the directory. Or, on FTP account creation, edit the Directory path so the folder is placed outside the public_html directory. (ie: /home/cPanelusername/ftpaddonaccount/)

    Thank you Infopro,

I tried the latter solution you suggested and that did the trick. I appreciate the help.

    Steadford.
