I'd just like to say this is a fantastic resource and one that has been very helpful during my Linux learning curve.

    Ok, I have two servers - server1.mydomain.com and server2.mydomain.com

    server1 hosts the mydomain.com mail
server2 has the mysQL dbs and a backup of data on server1

I have a cron job setup on server2 and want to mail the results to an address on server1

The mail does not make it I'm getting 550 errors:
    Here's how it goes:

    LOG: MAIN
** nickb@myserver.com R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp: SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<nickb@myserver.com>: host mail2.myserver.com [66.135.35.13]: 550-Verification failed for <root@server2.myserver.com>\n550-unrouteable mail domain "server2.mydomain.com"\n550 Sender verify failed

    LOG: MAIN

Both server1 and server2 have DNS entries mail functions fine for mydomain.com

Not sure this will solve your problem but try adding queue_only_override = false in the advanced Exim configuration first text box. Email to root often seems to be blocked without this directive. Had a similar situation with email from logwatch.
