I am getting an email every hour saying:

    Subject:
    Cron <root@localhost> root run-parts /etc/cron.hourly

    Message:
/bin/bash: line 1: root: command not found

There isn't even anything in /etc/cron.hourly and the only thing in cron.d is mrtg, but I don't think it's causing it. Any ideas?

Have you tried running crontab -e from the prompt?
