    Is there a way to set up a cron to reboot on a nightly basis? This is extremely important to my sanity, so if you know how please let me know:)

    Go on, have a guess
    If you must, but it would be better to know why you need to do this:

    login as root
    crontab -e
    * 2 * * * reboot

    Will reboot your server every day at 02:00.

    Linux computers don't need to be rebooted daily like windows computers do. :cool:

    well, what i really need is to be able to shut off remote smtp altogether-I have to reboot daily because of the ammount of viruses (all now caught by mailscanner-my thanks to the people who posted how to set up-yay)that come through my system and make my server turn to molasses after about 24-36 hours.

    I can not seem to figure it out without turning off exim, and then sendmail doesn't-lol-almost NO mail came through.
