    Hello everyone,

    Greetings from New Zealand.
I have been lurking for a while, finding answers to many questions. :)

Here is one that might be obvious for some of you.
In the csf / lfd firewall configuration, I cannot find the Temporary Times Settings,
i.e., where to specify how long a temporary block should be.
I have been thinking of increasing the time of temporary blocks to about a week.

The configuration refers to the TTL of temporary blocks. For instance, it says that "LF_PERMBLOCK_INTERVAL needs to be at least LF_PERMBLOCK_COUNT multiplied by the longest temporary time setting (TTL) for blocked IPs".

But I cannot find the TTL for blocked IPs.

Maybe it is staring at me, or is it specified somwhere else?

    Looking forward to your insights.

Wishing you all a beautiful day

    Hi regex,

Would it be possible to post this on CSF forum? That's their product, so they know these settings best:

    Thanks!

    Hi Tristan,

Yes, certainly. Thank you for sharing that link.
I noticed a great number of csf / lfd questions here, so it didn't seem inappropriate. I also thought that the IP block TTL configuration might perhaps live somewhere outside of the firewall (in Apache for instance).

Since I don't cross-post and am in no rush, if that's okay with you, I will wait for an answer. If none comes for a week or so, I will try somewhere else.

Wishing you a fun day. :)

Not sure if this is what your looking for but I found this in the csf+lfd readme.txt file for using shell commands:

    Thank you, basshook.
That looks like a good command-line option.

I think I'll go on the csf forum to ask about the GUI (WHM) option.
Wishing you all a beautiful weekend.
