I was wondering if it is necessary to compile a new kernel on FreeBSD 4.9 BEFORE installing cPanel. Or would it be fine to compile a new kernel and make world after cPanel is installed.

I'm just curious if anyone has had bad experience after updating FreeBSD make world or making a new kernel and messes up cPanel.

    Thanks!

Shouldn't make any difference (as long as your kernel works).

For the most part the answer was Yes, you need to add options QUOTA to the kernel or else all the space limits will not work.
