After years of our hosted members using BoxTrapper with no issues, we've finally got a RBL organization advising against, what they call "enabled NDR feature to deliver their spam". And, "... For this issue, you should directly reject this kinds of request during the incoming SMTP session as returning 5.x error code to them instead of keeping mails and bounce back later."
Then they sent us an example of a BoxTrapper autoresponse.
For one thing, in no way does BoxTrapper keep "..mails and bounce back later.", however I did notice this as part of the standard verification autoreply in their BT settings:
--------------
The headers of the message sent from your address are shown below:
%headers%
--------------
And sure enough, I am finding several incidents lately, where BT does include the header info of the initial email sent. This could conceivably give rise to a complaint if part of the spammy message is in the subject line of said headers, so, my question is, how do a knock out the above section (including the %headers% variable), out of everyone's settings, and stop this from being implemented again?
And thanks in advance for not just responding with "Don't use BoxTrapper..." I know very well the arguments pro and con. Right now, I am just trying to keep the %headers% variable from being implemented.
Thanks much.
