The patch is working but it has to be applied to /scripts/cPScript/cPCPAN.pm

I don't know why this problem still exists in DNSONLY version. However, the DNSONLY-BETA version contains the patch. To upgrade to this version you need to edit /etc/cpupdate.conf file and replace line:
Code:
CPANEL=dnsonly
with
Code:
CPANEL=dnsonly-beta
Then run /scripts/upcp --force

To see if any error appear, watch the file /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log (it's truncated after each cPanel restart).
All of these suggestions would be great, but it doesn't help us who are trying to install for the first time...

This is really frustrating that after MONTHS and MONTHS I have been unable to install this product. I realize that this is a free product, but it's only usable with other validly licensed cPanel servers (which I'm paying a lot of $$$ for).

If there is a fix, get it in the installer!!!

I cannot believe cPanel has yet to fix this. I have been trying to install cPanel DNSONLY all day. I've got the same problem. I even tried doing an ./upcp --force after editing the file and using dnsonly-beta which didn't work either.

I'm using CentOS 4.5

I've used DNSONLY before, and it worked fine but the installation is simply ridiculous that these perl packages are not installing properly.

I don't see DNSONLY as a free product. It is a PAID product as part of the cPanel license.

I have tried to install DNS-Only many times now. I'm getting two different errors mainly. The Zlib and the cgiwrap problem. From reading threads here, it has been a issue since 2006. I have used many hours reading threads, reinstalling vps from scratch, editing config files to get Beta, install Zlib manually etc. Two days wasted and have gotten nowhere. My conclusion is that VPS is just a pain.

Is there a way to get the Beta11 to work (with installer that is)...

We have also experienced problems with installing cPanel DNS Only on a CentOS v4.4 64bit Virtuozzo VPS. It took about 40 hours for the installation to timeout, ending with the errors:

error reading information on service apmd: No such file or directory
error reading information on service atd: No such file or directory
Shutting down console mouse services: [FAILED]

Shutting down xfs: [FAILED]

ditto. none of the fixes posted above seem to work, and the same issue happens in dnsonly-beta. What gives?
