Database usage exceeds limit

Hello there, newbie here..

I'm developing a website for about two years now for a ecommerce store. I've solved most of my problems, sometimes searching this forum helped, but this time i didn't manage to find a similar thread to look at..

My problem is that for about 3 months now, 1-5 times per day, the database usage in the graphs, exceeds the 2mb/s limit, sometimes up to 200mb/s.
And so is the CPU usage graph, up to 20.000% as you can see in the screenshots.

The weird think is that i have no problems at all with the website speed, everything else looks normal. I've asked my hosting company for information about that but i didn't get any valuable help.

How is it possible the database limit to be excceeded? What should i check?

cPanel Version 70.0 (build 48)
Apache Version 2.4.33
PHP Version 5.6.36
MySQL Version 10.1.31-MariaDB-cll-lve

PHP Version 7.0 with Wordpress installed

I forgot to mention that i'm on semi dedicated hosting

What OS are you using and can you explain what semi-dedicated hosting means?

Thanks for the fast reply. In fact it's a shared hosting, but with few clients each server.
