Neither cpusystem or cpuinfo is found anywhere on my CPanel boxes (according to slocate database updated a minute ago). If cpbackup is calling either of those, that could certainly be a problem. ;)

Jason - if you cat cpbackup does it have the sub-routine cpusystem listed at the bottom?

One of my machines that is having the problem is a brand new server with only one client on it so far. And it was built by burst.

I tried dgbaker's fix and it writes the /dirs and /files but not the /home dirs.

Yup:
sub cpusystem {
if (-e &$CPCONF{'root'}/bin/cpuwatch&) {
system(&$CPCONF{'root'}/bin/cpuwatch&,&$cpunum.0&,@_);
} elsif (-e &$CPCONF{'root'}/bin/logrunner&) {
system(&$CPCONF{'root'}/bin/logrunner&,&$cpunum.0&,@_);
} else {
system(@_);
}
return();
}

BTW...

Whatever is going wrong is also impacting one of my machines running incremental backup on version 5.3.0-EDGE_133

/etc/cpbackup.conf :
BACKUPACCTS yes
BACKUPDIR /backup
BACKUPENABLE yes
BACKUPFILES yes
BACKUPINC yes
BACKUPINT daily
BACKUPMOUNT no
BACKUPCHECK yes
BACKUP2 yes

Running /scripts/cpbackup appears to do nothing. Some of my config files were updated last night, but home directories on that server haven't been updated since 12/22.

John;

Did you remove the daily directory first? I found I had to rm -rf the daily directory to get the /home backups to go.

We noticed that as well, we did an rm -rf on the daily directly and then executed cpbackup with the mod. and we have the /home backups created.

dgbaker - yes, did the RM.

Also ran the fix that DaveDark posted and tried to run cpbackup and get nothing.

Ran upcp and no backups ran.

Getting frustrated with this.

Sorry, John - I really do not know what to tell you. I know it's probably a stupid question, but have you verified the backup settings in WHM?

I know the fix from DaveDark is working. So I'm not sure what to suggest, other than wait and see in the morning if it works overnight, I do know that in the cpbackup code there is a date and time check to see when it needs to do the backups.

Yep, checked the settings.

When I try to run cpbackup from the command line, it goes right back to the prompt with mount turned off and whith mount turned on it says device is busy or already mounted.

I guess I will have to wait and if it doesn't work get a new backup program.

Thanks for the help though!

You should be able to fix this problem now by running /scripts/updatenow[/quote:6b2496a47c]

What version is supposed to fix it? Do we need to go to an edge release, as my server is still loading 117.

Hi,

Trying to run /scripts/cpbackup/ but getting nothing - just another prompt.

I've run update to 133 and it does not help.
