I have a default user that was made when cpanel was installed. He was the owner of the first domain that I added. I accidentally took him from being the owner of the domain so the domain account owns itself now.

Can I get my first default cpanel user to have ownership of the domain again. He is nowhere to be found in cpanel but I can ssh with that name. I cant even login to cpanel with that name.

Can you login via WHM and change owner of the account back to the proper user? I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say you changed the user and now the account owns itself. A user can own his own account of course. Just not sure how you removed the user. Assuming you renamed.

I made a domain account. Then I went to the ownership and did a change ownership. I told a different name to own the domain account which was the domain account username its self. So user jason is no longer the owner of the account. Now jason cant login to cpanel but he can still ssh.

Its the user that is made when you first have the server provisioned.

Hello :)

cPanel access is only possible for usernames that have a valid cPanel account. If there is no cPanel account for this user, it will not be possible to access cPanel using it as the username.

Thank you.
