Default e-mail address?

    Why is there always a default e-mail address created in cPanel in the list of email addresses, when you create an account with WHM? Why not leaving the list of email addresses empty :confused:

    Do you mean the email account that reflects your username? This is your main user that was previously used as a default catch-all account. You really don't even need to use it and it doesn't hurt anything...just ignore it :)

    Yes, but some users try to use it...

    We were ignoring these accounts too, but one of our users recently logged into the webmail account for the default address, sent out a bunch of messages, and then called to complain that the replies couldn't get to him because the system-default was to bounce mail for these accounts.

    It seems the mail interface should more clearly label this account as a "leave it alone" item, perhaps even removing it and the webmail link for it from the main mail management page.
