    Hi all

Is it possible tu use the default email address as a normal mail account? I am asking this because I get an error when trying to send emails to it.

I suppose it depends whether or not you're sending to the correct address.

Mail sent to username@hostname.host.com should go through to the default mailbox, although as this email address will be astoundingly different from your domain name there is little point in using it.

The "default" email address that is auto-created by cpanel for every account is pretty much next to useless.

I still don't understand why they don't give us the option to remove these users from being displayed in the mail areas of cpanel.. because it is downright confusing for our users to see that "email address" listed there, when it does not work.

(Our most common helpdesk ticket for new user: "Why doesn't my email address work?" They simply want to know why the default email isn't working, when in fact they must still go in and create an email address. They see one there, so they assume that is working.. when it is NOT, since it needs a special address, as explained in previous post.)
