I'm working on cPanel documentation and I'm trying to get my head around the Send all unrouted email for the following domain option on the Email > Default Address interface.
The cPanel documentation explains that the catch-all can be set up for a single domain. When there are multiple domains users can select a domain from a drop-down list. So, if my primary domain is example.com and I got an addon domain for example.net then I can set the default address for either domain.
What I don't quite understand is how mail for the other domain would be handled. If I got a catch-all domain for example.com, what would happen with emails sent to a non-existing example.net user?
I've done some testing and by default emails sent to non-existing emails addresses are always bounced. However, when I choose to forward unrouted emails the forwarding only works for the selected domain - unrouted emails for the other domain are still bounced. So, it seems that the feature works as follows:
Is that correct, or am I missing something?
