Default permissions of / directory?

    What is the default permission for / folder
    what is the best permission for / folder

    cPanel Access Level:
    Root Administrator
    It would be 555 with root as user and group. I guess that permission should be enough as well.

    The default permissions are actually 755 on CentOS 5, and 555 on CentOS 6, for the / directory. There is really no reason to change them, for security or other reasons, and changing them can and will break things.
