delay in receiving email

    We encountered some delay in receiving emails to/from some clients.
    Time to receive sometime can be in hours or even days.
    We noticed when we haven't received any emails for 1 or 2 hours, specially
    during afternoon and we only able to found out when the client called us and
    said they already sent us email.

    Another Case is when we unable to receive email in thunderbird but able to
    forward to gmail or yahoo mail.

    in mail queue manager (WHM) there is more than 6000 messages in the mail queue.
    it can be 27 days in queue manager.

    in the mail server, each mail has its own delivery “history”??
    where i can find it, so we can only investigate specific incidents like this.

    Need your advise to solve this problem.

    You need to establish the message ID (e.g. 1KKCj4-00022v-QZ) which you can get from the email header in the last Received: (first in the list) record.

    You can then use exigrep to find what happened to it:

    exigrep 1KKCj4-00022v-QZ /var/log/exim_mainlog

    If we sent emails and some of them was delayed in few days, is this
    condition normal? Please kindly advise ...

    some of the email was delayed in few hours and days:mad:

    Are there any entries in your mail log that say smtp-defer, deferred, or any 421 errors? There are reasons why a mail could be deferred for hours and/or days. Definitely check the log using the message ID.
