Hello, I have clients that thier /tmp folders are filling up with data, the /tmp is used for the stats. If I delete the /tmp folder will it just start over and create a new /tmp and start from there?

Also by deleteing this folder will it effect anything besides webstats?

    Thanks

I wouldn't recommend deleting the entire folder, your best bet for each client having that problem is to go over the actual files in there and just delete the biggest ones.

A few things you can do to help avoid the issue:

Under WHM Tweak settings, uncheck the box for "Keep log files at the end of the month (default is off as you can run out of disk space quickly)".

Check the box for "Delete each domain's access logs after stats run"

    That might help.

The individual "tmp" directory within each user's home directory will be recreated if it is missing the next time log processing occurs for that account.

The individual user tmp directories are primarily used for web statistics, including the statistics configuration file "stats.conf" that can be used to disable/enable specific statistics programs. There may be other usage depending on the circumstances, such as in cPanel 11.25 -- if Roundcube was converted from MySQL to SQLite by the server administrator then there may be the user's Roundcube error log and or a temporary backup of Roundcube data saved from the time of conversion.

To avoid or reduce future disk usage from web statistics I would consider to allow only one or two of the three statistics programs or, optionally, disable all three if desired (either for just one account or per server-wide defaults). Server-wide defaults and per-user settings may be modified via WHM at the following menu path:

WHM: Main >> Server Configuration >> Statistics Software Configuration
    Documentation: Statistics Software Configuration

Additionally, if allowed via the statistics software configuration preferences in WHM users may toggle per-domain statistics programs via cPanel at the following menu path:

cPanel: Main >> Logs >> Choose Log Programs
    Documentation: Choose Log Programs
