Deleting DNS Zones existing accounts

Anyone else have a problem with deleting DNS zones for existing accounts? I can't leave this around as it causes problems with not being able to lookup proper records from the actual DNS provider. I also have lots of problems with dedicateds where they expect to be able to delete the zone and can't since it breaks accounts in WHM. Anyone know of a workaround that allows the zones to be deleted without causing major issues?

I'm also having this problem.

One of my domains has its DNS hosted with a dedicated DNS provider and I'm having to now manually copy all the records into WHM because the server insists on looking in its own server first before consulting the root servers and thus not finding the entries it should.

Likewise, I'm trying to remove dns info for domains that aren't don't have this server as a registered nameserver. After deleting the dns zone in the gui, it actually screws up the domain quite a bit - the account no longer shows up in whm, or the domain .. email breaks .. cpanel no longer shows those email accounts. Looks like a serious bug, which I'll report if I don't find it already, though I'm still searching for any easy fixes.
