Deleting Public HTML and Wordpress

Hi everyone, we bought an ugly and expensive website a site long ago and its an html site, we now want to migrate to Wordpress and I don't know what to do at all, I have access to the cPanel and was told by people on another forum to delete the contents of public html and installing Wordpress from quick install, anyone knows if this is the correct way to do it or are there any other steps involved?

Hello,

Yes, you'd simply delete the existing contents from your public_html directory (not the directory itself) and then install WordPress:

Note you may want to backup your existing website data if there's anything you want to keep.
