I searched the forum and couldn't find anything about this, so here goes the thread..

My question is simple: is installation of Dell Open Manage Server Administrator (certain components like CLI, web server, diagnostic service, storage management) ok with Cpanel ( is it within 'clean OS installation')?

    *RHEL4

CLEAN implies that you have nothing else installed other than a minimal RHEL install.

    Go on, have a guess
Yes, it is essential that up2date is installed and running if you're using an RHE OS. As brentp said, you should however, only do a minimal OS install before installing cPanel. The cPanel installation process will install whatever rpms it requires through up2date and elsewhere from source.
