I recently setup Cpanel on Freebsd 5.1 and basically nothing works.

If one thing starts, the other doesnt. I have tried reinstalling apache, cpanel all different things from posts in these forums but nothing seems to work.

Before it was a DNS problem and bind would not reload, ive just rebooted the server and now that works, mySQL and exim doesnt. I get the following message:

Aug 11 16:49:02 maggie exim[2127]: 2004-08-11 16:49:02 exim 4.41 daemon started: pid=2127, -q30m, listening for SMTP on port 25 (IPv6 and IPv4) Aug 11 16:49:02 maggie exim[2127]: 2004-08-11 16:49:02 Cannot open main log file "/var/log/exim/mainlog": Permission denied: euid=26 egid=6 Aug 11 16:49:02 maggie exim[2129]: 2004-08-11 16:49:02 exim 4.41 daemon started: pid=2129, no queue runs, listening for SMTPS on port 465 (IPv6 and IPv4) Aug 11 16:49:02 maggie exim[2127]: exim: could not open panic log - aborting: see message(s) above Aug 11 16:49:02 maggie exim[2129]: 2004-08-11 16:49:02 Cannot open main log file "/var/log/exim/mainlog": Permission denied: euid=26 egid=6 Aug 11 16:49:02 maggie exim[2129]: exim: could not open panic log - aborting: see message(s) above Aug 11 16:49:02 maggie exim[2131]: 2004-08-11 16:49:02 exim 4.41 daemon started: pid=2131, no queue runs, listening for SMTP on port 26 (IPv6 and IPv4) Aug 11 16:49:02 maggie exim[2131]: 2004-08-11 16:49:02 Cannot open main log file "/var/log/exim/mainlog": Permission denied: euid=26 egid=6 Aug 11 16:49:02 maggie exim[2131]: exim: could not open panic log - aborting: see message(s) above exim has failed, please contact the sysadmin.

If anyone could help me I would be so so greatful. I have basically added nearly all users to the wheel group, this didnt help and I chown -R daemon /var/log/exim/ and that didnt work either.

    Kind Regards

    Al :(

    Go on, have a guess
Do a search for exim and BSD - I believe that you have to recompile it is a certain way.
