How do I figure out what the maximum inode capacity is for my server?

I just migrated to a new server last week and this morning I noticed an increase in INODE usage on the new server. It jumped from 1m-1.5m to about 3m. Turns out the backup schedule was migrated across too. The original server had a local storage device attached. This server does not.

So now all the accounts have been backed up to a folder on the server. Filezilla is having trouble loading the directory listings. It wasn't having this trouble earlier in the week so I can only assume it's the inode increase. The backups are also zipped, so I would not have thought it would double the inode usage?

There's still plenty of resources on the server, even with the backups the storage is only 64% full.

Cheers.

You can check the inode usage from SSH by executing "df -i" command. You can also turn on the display of inode usage in cPanel if you login to WHM, go to Tweak Settings and search for "inode".
