    hi
    The directory indexs of system default setting is "on",i want to turn the indexs of default setting off ;
    i have modified /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf
    <Directory />
    Options FollowSymLinks Includes
    AllowOverride None
    </Directory>

    but the system default setting is still 'on'
    who can tell me what i should do

    Have restarted the httpd after making the changes. If you did any changes to the configuration file you have to restart the httpd. Restart the httpd and then try.

    i have restarted after making these changes,but the system default setting is still 'on'

    I found I had to edit /usr/local/apache/conf/access.conf to get this to work.

    I simply placed a - in front of Indexes (i.e. -Indexes)
