    Any ideas on how disable public relaying with Exim as some servers are getting hit with 100mb spam per day?

    I've made the following changes wondering if they will help me prevent the SPAM from coming in / being relayed:

    changed in /etc/exim.conf

    cmmented these out:

    # accept domains = +local_domains
    # accept domains = +relay_domains

    Immediately after the above two comments added this:

    accept domains = +local_domains
    endpass
    message = unknown user
    verify = recipient

    # Accept if the address is in a domain for which we are relaying, but again,
    # only if the recipient can be verified.

    accept domains = +relay_domains
    endpass
    message = unrouteable address
    verify = recipient

    Save and restart exim

    I'm also getting huge CPU spikes because of this:

    Top Process %CPU 22.0 /usr/sbin/exim -MCS -MCP -MCQ 2923 5 -MC remote_smtp smtp.dcconvention.com 65.126.24.211 4 1BAR0D-0007jB-0X

    I have denied remote smtp connections via WHM + added the relay lists to stop spam - but I'm still being hit by this - does anyone have a solution?

    MO,

    Did this work for you? I am suspicious about my server being used to relay spam.
