    Hello,

After disabling direct root login, it seems that all commands such as ifconfig, services and many other simple commands no longer worked. Is this a bug?

    Thanks and God Bless!

    Go on, have a guess
Not much info here, but I suspect that if you're logging into a non-priv account and then using su to login to the root account you're not doing this:

    su -

That dash is important, because without it su won't run roots login scripts and so many environment variables won't be setup, including the root PATH information.
    Please don't bother
