disabling root whm

Hi,

I need a way of disabling whm for root only so only we need to login to whm as root we would enable it and after we are done we can get it disabled. Any idea?

i don't think there's a way of Disabling the master control panel of the server.
however you can look for possibilities to login with Pub key authentification, and disable the password authentification for the root account, if its possible techinically.
even csf suggests reading this article but its for ssh only

There is no way of disabling it, but the idea Mohit wrote would be the closest to disabling it.

Simplest way would be to firewall off the two WHM ports and only allow access to trusted IP addresses.

don't you think restricting the WHM ports to a specific IP would also ban the resellers access to WHM if the server in question has resellers.
