    Hello

My server crashes every 2-3 days at about 2:30 AM. I looked and found just one cron job at arround that time which is the cron job which runs /scripts/upcp

What problems can disabling this service cause?

    Any help is appereciated.

    Regards,
    Mac

I doubt that doing so would cause any problems, since you can disable automatic Cpanel updates from WHM.

However if you do want to disable automatic updates (which stopping the cron for /scripts/upcp would do), you might as well do so from WHM just to be on the safe side.

WHM > Server Setup > Update Config

    Go on, have a guess
    Couple of ideas:

    1. Make sure that you do not have laus installed:

    rpm -e laus

This has caused no end of similar problems for other people.

    2. Make sure that /scripts/cpbackup does not run at the same time as /scripts/upcp

    3. Disable smart checking (as a last resort) by doing:

    touch /var/cpanel/disablesmartcheck
