It seems some folks are divided on the issue, and I'm in the process of setting up a new dedicated so I'm wondering - should I disable spamassassin like I have done on my other box? Are there major downsides or positives to be aware of?

    Thanks for any input/opinions!

    Go on, have a guess
Only the obvious. If you disable it, you won't get any spam scanning. If you enable it, it will consume memory and CPU resources (as you'd expect) and will provide spam scanning if enabled in the users cPanel.

Thank you Chirpy. I think for now I will keep it disabled and see how things go.
