    Hello,
i have custom exim setup to run atmail.com software, how to avoid WHM/cpanel from overwriting exim everytime upcp or whatever installing/upgrading new version of cPanel ?

    Thanks.

    Go on, have a guess
    Hi Bashar,

You should use the following to stop it updating:

    chattr +i /etc/exim.conf

This makes the file immutable - it cannot be changed without performing:

    chattr -i /etc/exim.conf

The main concern when doing this, is that cPanel may make some required changes that aren't implemented.

If possible, it's always better to make changes in WHM > Exim Configuration Editor > Switch to Advanced Mode, as changes here will be preserved when exim.conf is upgraded.

Why on earth does atmail need changes to the exim configuration file, anyway?

because it uses exim with mysql server compiled or something since it uses special feature in the config file :)

its not the exim.conf only including the binary too i think i'll chattr or (chflags on freebsd) the bin/config files

    thanks for the reminder ;)
